Obama & McCain Ice Fishing!

The Presidential election was too close to call. Neither the Republican candidate nor the Democratic candidate had enough votes to win. There was much talk about ballot recounting, court challenges, etc., but a week-long ice fishing competition seemed the sportsmanlike way to settle things. The candidate that caught the most fish at the end of the week would win the election.

After much of back and forth discussion, it was decided that the contest take place on a remote frozen lake in northern Minnesota .

There were to be no observers present, and both men were to be sent out separately on this isolated lake and return at 5 P.M. with their catch for counting and verification by a team of neutral parties. At the end of the first day, John McCain returned to the starting line and he had ten fish.

Soon, Obama returned and had no fish. Well, everyone a ssumed he was just having another 'bad hair' day or something and hopefully, he would catch up the next day.
At the end of the 2nd day John McCain came in with 20 fish and Obama came in again with none.
That evening, Harry Reid got together secretly with Obama and said, 'Obama, I think John McCain is a low-life, cheatin' son-of-a-gun. I want you to go out tomorrow and don't even bother with fishing. Just spy on him and see just how he is cheating.'

The next night (after John McCain returns with 50 fish), Harry Reid said to Obama, 'Well, tell me, how is he cheating?'
Obama replied, 'Harry, you're not going to believe this, but he's cutting holes in the ice.'

Another Stimulus Check?

The chances have increased that Congress could pass a second stimulus package during its lameduck session following the presidential election. The administration believes that many of the proposals being discussed would not stimulate the economy.
The first stimulus package was passed last February. It consisted mostly of tax rebates. The rebates were first sent out in late April and continued into the summer. I got mine in May and was very glad to get it. My sister didn't get one at all, and figured it was because she never worked in the public that year.
While they boosted consumer spending in the short-term, they didn't do so nearly as much as they boosted consumers' savings or ability to pay down debt.
The proposal would only apply to people who bought second or third properties over the next 18 months and held their properties for at least five years. That leaves me out, because I don't intend to buy anymore property and my house will be paid for in 3 years.
So it's a wait and see situation..........and if I get one ...........then I'll put it in the bank like I did the last one, in order to pay the house taxes this year.

Monday snapped up beaten-down energy shares and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said another economic stimulus plan may be needed to revive lagging growth. US stocks opened higher on Monday as investors took signs of further easing of interbank lending rates as signaling that credit markets are beginning to loosen up, tempering recession worries. Everyone hope their right, since things stilll look abit scary at the present.

Gas Price's

Oil rose by more than $3 on Friday, rebounding from a 15-month low below $70 on a late rally on Wall Street and growing expectations of an OPEC production cut.

Did you watch the debate last night? Then you know we are in for a big mess the next four years. These men are just talking to hear their heads rattle. They don't mean a work they say, except to get their foot in the White House door, and be top dog for four years. They will only do what is necessary to keep their presence known in the world. I'm worried and everyone else should be. I sure hope, we have enough sense to not re-elect these men ant the end of the coming term of office.

Looks like Madonna and filmmaker Guy Ritchie will end their marriage after nearly eight years. The couple asked the media to "maintain respect for their family at this difficult time. The wealthy couple, must also decide child custody issues and financial options.
