It's not new, but it's mine and that's all that matters.

The fact that it's paid for and my sweetie bought it for me, makes it even better.  I've been cruising around in it and having a good time.  It's not as good on gas as the other two vehicles we have, but that's ok, since I only use it around town.

It's Gone

Lately, I've been shopping for another car.  What kind and where doesn't seem to be the problem, but when you get stuck on a certain type or brand and everywhere you look, there's one in your face.  Well, it comes to the point that it's the type you want.
I saw a car parked at the side of one of our local streets.  It was for sale and would  have been one I could have made do with.  When I finally decided to stop and check the price of it, the damn thing was gone.  Waited too long and someone else got the deal.  Story of my stupid life!

Last Year

This was last year, when Daytona 500 began, and Nascar fans eyes were glued to the TV screens.

Next Sunday, will be the race for the 500 this year and I know of at least one man who's eyes will be glued to the TV in our house.  

 

Jeff Gordon, won the pole for next Sunday's race and Jimmy Johnson took second on the pole for the beginning of the race, in qualifying this weekend.

The start of a rain delayed race, that happened more than once.  This race had several pile ups causing many driver's to loose their place in the race.  The winner was once again, Carl Edwards.  Congrats to a great driver.

This is a country music singer singing the "national anthem" at the race in Las Vegas, NV last Sunday.  Why do they always have to put their own little version in it?

My Body/Car?

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ..

But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it --


Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Wrong Number!

I was woke up this morning by a man who had a accent like from Germany, Russia or somewhere overseas.  He didn't speak or understand English too well, but had enough ability to let me know what he was doing.  It seems he couldn't tell me who had ordered a car that he was supposed to be bringing from MA to Dallas, TX.  The car was supposed to be picked up, but when I kept asking him what my name was, he rattled off something I couldn't even recognize.  Finally, after the 3rd call from him, I told him to call his company and find out what was wrong.  That I certainly hadn't ordered a Cadillac and was not the person they were looking for.  In other words he had the wrong person and the wrong phone number, period!
