Marvel Is Bought............
The stock deal sent Spidey senses tingling in the comic book world. It could lead to new rides, movies, action figures and other outlets for Marvel's 5,000 characters, although Marvel already was aggressively licensing its properties for such uses. Marvel would follow another storied comic book publisher into the arms of a media conglomerate. DC Comics, the home of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, was bought by Warner Bros., now part of Time Warner Inc. in 1969.

Oh My God.........
A photo shows Libyans greeting Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi his arrival in Tripoli on August 20. Pressure mounted on Prime Minister Gordon Brown to express his views on the release of the release of the Lockerbie bomber from jail last week.
Construction is seen Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Englewood, N.J., as workers renovate a 25-room mansion owned since 1982 by Libya. Officials are trying to prevent Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi from staying at the mansion in this northern New Jersey suburb.
Convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdel Basset al-Megrahi with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli in this August 21, 2009. Gaddafi hugged the convicted Lockerbie bomber and promised more cooperation with Britain in gratitude for his release, while London and Washington condemned his "hero's welcome" home. Meeting Megrahi and his family late on Friday, Gaddafi thanked British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Queen Elizabeth for "encouraging" Scotland to release the dying prisoner from a Scottish jail.
Scotland's justice minister faced an angry grilling from MPs over his decision to free the convicted Lockerbie bomber, and the ensuing furious backlash from the United States. Our prison's a full of terminally ill inmates, and we are not freeing them because of ill health. Just think of what could happen if we allowed terminally ill inmates free, to roam the streets until they die?
Just think, if they allow Kadhafi to live here in the US, then he's taking advantage of the nation, he once fought against.
I remember my son, on the deck of one of our Navy's ships, shooting at the fleet of Kadhafi's ships in the harbor, at Tripoli. That was just a few years ago, and now he want us to let him live here? What else is going to happen?

The 32-year-old Burress pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He had accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub in November.

Favre.....Again & Again........
Here comes Favre, who turns 40 in October, and said last month he didn’t think he had enough left to get through a full season. The will-he-or-won’t-he saga became an annual offseason drama for the Packers, his longtime home. Favre had arthroscopic surgery to fix his throwing shoulder in May. It's Favre’s second comeback and a year ago, he came out of a short retirement to join the Jets. He's not growing old gracefully.........!
Marijuana Growers May Have Started Fires........
Wildfire investigators in California are looking for marijuana growers tied to a Mexican drug cartel whom they suspect ignited a blaze that has charred more than 87,000 acres of a national forest. It is believed to be the first major wildfire in the state caused by drug traffickers. A cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation is believed to have started the fires. The operation is believed to be run by a Mexican national drug organization. There is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. Investigators found tens of thousands of marijuana plants growing in the area. They say that not all the marijuana growing can be linked to the Mexican Drug Cartels.
So True........
Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel ” pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land”.
Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, ” Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land”.
Now Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels, and mortgaged the promised land.

Protesters Near President's Speech
Gun-rights advocates say they're exercising their constitutional right to bear arms and protest, while those who argue for more gun control say it could be a disaster waiting to happen.
Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday's event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested.
"Just by his presence and people seeing the rifle and people knowing the president was in town, it sparked a lot of emotions," it was said. "We were keeping peace on both ends."

Avesil
I went to the website and looked around. I found many other reviews, but none on Avesil until I looked closer at the side bar, with more listings. I found the name and clicked on it. I found there to be pro's and con's on the product, plus it was listed at a price too high for my budget. If I were to spend $89.95 for a bottle of pills, you had better see the pounds drop off fast, or I would be very unhappy. I saw that they said if you were really interested in taking the pills to burn fat, then make sure your doctor, agreed.
What A Waste....
Sapporo beer factory workers clean up broken bottles following a 6.5-magnitude quake, in Shizuoka, Japan, Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009. The quake hit Tokyo and nearby areas shortly after dawn Tuesday, halting trains and forcing two nuclear reactors to shut down for safety checks.
Bottles and instant noodle bowls are scattered on the floor of a convenience store in Shizuoka, 200km west of Tokyo. Powerful earthquakes just over 10 minutes apart rattled Japan and India, triggering panic on fears of a tsunami in the Andaman Islands and injuring more than 100 people southwest of Tokyo.
Cajun Women Are Tough.....
An elderly Cajun man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite beignets wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen, where if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were hundreds of his favorite beignets. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of love from his wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? He threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the beignets was already in his mouth. With a trembling hand he reached up to the edge of the table, when suddenly he was smacked with a wooden spoon by his wife.
Stop she said. "Those are for the funeral."

Cameron Douglas.........
DEA agents claim they ran a 3-year investigation, proving the 30-year-old actor sold "multiple pounds" of crystal meth to several people, many of whom are now cooperating in the prosecution of Douglas. DEA further alleges that Cameron deposited and withdrew tens of thousands of dollars in cash from the drug deals. Agents ran a sting operation, in which they caught Douglas accepting $15,000 in cash in exchange for a promise to deliver a half pound of crystal meth. Douglas later followed up with the drug buyer and had the following conversation, using a drug code: "bath salts"
The docs say the sting hauled in somewhere around 215.2 grams of "ice." If convicted on all counts, Douglas faces 10 years to life in prison.

Happy Birthday...........
You say it's your birthday?
It's my birthday, too.
And so it went at the White House on Tuesday.
On the day he turned 48, President Barack Obama decided to splash a little celebration on someone with whom he shares the birthday: legendary White House correspondent Helen Thomas, now a columnist with Hearst Newspapers, who turned 89 on Wednesday.
Douglas Arrested......
Law enforcement officials say the son of Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas has been arrested on a drug charge at an upscale New York City hotel. Two people familiar with the investigation say 30-year-old Cameron Douglas was arrested July 28 on a methamphetamine-dealing charge at the Hotel Gansevoort in Manhattan. He also was arrested in California in 2007 on cocaine possession charges.
