Sapporo beer factory workers clean up broken bottles following a 6.5-magnitude quake, in Shizuoka, Japan, Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009. The quake hit Tokyo and nearby areas shortly after dawn Tuesday, halting trains and forcing two nuclear reactors to shut down for safety checks.
Bottles and instant noodle bowls are scattered on the floor of a convenience store in Shizuoka, 200km west of Tokyo. Powerful earthquakes just over 10 minutes apart rattled Japan and India, triggering panic on fears of a tsunami in the Andaman Islands and injuring more than 100 people southwest of Tokyo.
