Today Is Starting Off

I just don't understand it.........you get up and your eyes seem to be stuck together, so you ramble through the house/apartment and everything you touch just sits there and won't move. Either that or you can just walk by it and it will fall. What's up with this thing that happens, when your half awake and really don't need it happening, right now thing? Today, seems to be one of those days.
I've gotten up, put on the coffee, fed the animal, logged on to the internet, gone back gotten a cup of coffee, accessed my websites that I frequent and it's just not going right. Two of them are having some kind of problems, which leaves me without much to do. I can tell it's going to be one of those days. Nothing is going to go right.........you'd think it was a full moon or "Friday 13th". Makes you want to go back to bed and stay there.

Who do you think will get in the Top 5? Last night it was a rough time seeing certain acts that I knew wasn't going to make it. Actually, there were several, that I wondered how they ever made it......... but that's not my call and I'm not voting, so I will sit back tonight and find out who the Top 5 contestants are for the $1,000,000. and a gig in Vegas. I know that I would vote for only 2 of the contestants and it's really going to come down to them........ unfortunately ..........only one can win.

Our Cat is Tacky

This was "Big Red", (a stray)and all he wanted was to eat........he was very skittish and wouldn't let you near him..........He got a bad cold that turned into pneumonia and he was having a bad time, just staying healthy.........he was skin and bones and all beat up, by a dog or something, when he first started coming around, and as you can see he picked up weight, after I fed him a few weeks. Unfortunately, he being weak, with the pneumonia, ended up in the wrong place again and showed up all beaten up, with his eye swollen and a big red gash across his face........he never got over this.........

Blackie, is a lot like Red, he has a cold too and I'm afraid he will get too sick to make it through the winter...

He's very sweet and always answers back when we talk to him.


Blackie is the the name I gave him, and he started showing up a month or two before Big Red died.

The route forecast by the Hurricane Center is straight up toward the east Texas area and that Ike will gives us plenty of wind and rain. Possibly we could get some tornado activity as well. Massive flooding is already happening along the coastal areas, and expected to get much worse as Ike comes inland.

Hurricane Ike Heads for Middle Texas........

How ironic........On Sept. 8, 1900, Galveston, Texas, was struck by a hurricane that killed an estimated 8,000 people.

Ike has now moved into the Gulf of Mexico headed toward the southern Texas coastline where it could strike land early Saturday. Ike could grow into a major Category 3 storm before slamming into Texas or northern Mexico. Texas put 7,500 National Guard members on standby and urged coastal residents to stock up on supplies. Latest projections pointed Ike toward the middle of the Texas coast, possibly between Copus Christi and Port Lavaca/Port Aranzas.

Camaguey, Cuba didn't fare as well......heavy damage and flooding cause over 900,000 to evacuate.
They say that Ike could strengthen into a massive Category 3 storm before slamming into Texas or Mexico this weekend. At 5 p.m. EDT today, Ike was just off the coast of western Cuba, 90 miles west-southwest of Havana. It was moving west-northwest at 10 mph and its maximum sustained winds were 75 mph.
Dallas, gets ready for more evacuees, pending the onslaught of Ike to the coast of Texas. The Dallas convention Center, has been home to many since Gustav, came through Louisiana. The volunteers, are getting more cots and supplies set up expecting more to come into the area to get away from Ike. Authorities in the impoverished Rio Grande Valley and tried to convince tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that they have less to fear from the Border Patrol than from the storm.

Hanna Hits Virginia Beach, VA

I don't know if my grand kids decided to go to the beach or not. My oldest son lives here and my daughter in law, wasn't happy with it coming their way. Neither was I for that fact, but what can a person do? I got an email from them around noon and she said the wind was already bad. It looks like they didn't get hit too hard, and I should be thankful for that. News report says that bathers enjoyed the beach and surf in Virginia Beach, Va., Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, as Tropical Storm Hanna approached the East Coast. I'll bet they got the waves they were looking for.

Hurricane Season in Full Swing...........

What with the remnants of Gustav, the new threat from Hanna, a strengthening Ike and newcomer Josephine are emerging. Hanna will most likely come ashore as a hurricane between Friday and Saturday somewhere between the east coast of Florida and the North Carolina coast. Hanna is the third storm to threaten Florida in three weeks. Ten people were killed as Tropical Storm Hanna socked the north of Haiti Tuesday and officials called for help amid fears of a disaster like the one caused by Tropical Storm Jeanne four years ago.
The team dispatched to Florida to deal with the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay will stay there to plan for Ike, which could threaten Florida after Hanna passes. Looks like another very active season, has begun with hurricanes stacked back to back.

Did Palin Have Trig?

Do you think that the 17 year old daughter Bristol, is the mother of Trig? Palin, says that Trig is her own son, born in April of this year. If Trig was born in April 2008 and her daughter is considered to be 5 months pregnant now, then something's not right. I can count better than that.

If you think it's a lie, then why hasn't anyone, gotten in contact with the personal doctor of Palin, to find out if in fact she was pregnant last year? It's very easy to find out if someone was pregnant in a certain year.

Even her cabinet that has worked closely with her during her governorship, would be able to verify this bit of information. I realize that this information is confidential, but public documents at the Bureau of Vital Statistics, shouldn't have been fixed. If that's the case, then there's something wrong with this picture.
One other question? Why is it that Palin, leaves the top 2 or 3 buttons open on her blouses? Is this discreet enough for a woman, in a government office?

Just My Luck........

I was looking for some good soaking rain, with this hurricane, and what have we got? Nill.......nothing.....a small shower, that lasted all of 5 to 6 minutes.......! We have plenty of wind and clouds, but hardly any rain.....Now, I know your saying for me to count my blessings..........I know your right.....yet, some rain would have been nice. Almost every time a good set of storms comes through the Texas area I live in........we miss them....and hardly get any rain. Texas hasn't issued a mandatory water rationing this year, but it still needs some rain, to make the lakes fill up to a good level. I realize that New Orleans, is under water in most places.........it's as if.........some get all the water and others........get none. It would be nice if things were evened out a bit more, don't you think? I guess God, has his own way of doing things, and it's not my call........darn it!

Gustav Only Cat. 2

Gustav, is not as strong as predicted, but still has the potential to cause a lot of damage. They don't expect any loss of lives, because of the prior efforts to get people out before landfall. It didn't hit directly in the New Orleans area, but just west of it near the Cocodrie community, the heart of the state's fishing and oil industry.
